Cattle have access to approvimately 30% - 40% of Lake Colac's foreshore.
They graze on the native reed beds and trample what is left of them. They create quagmires and cause serious erosion along the foreshore, thus reducing water quality.
Lake Colac's water quality will only improve when the cattle are fenced off at least 50 metres from the Lake's high water mark.
